ODPH Stores COVID-19 Related Data
As the world faces the pandemic brought by the coronavirus disease of 2019, the Department of Health (DOH) commits itself to protect and promote public health, and to enhance transparency and accountability through freedom of information and open governance.
The DOH publishes COVID-19 related data through its COVID-19 DOH Data Drop daily. The datasets that the agency publishes online are anonymized COVID-19 related datasets to protect the right to privacy of the individuals.
According to the Privacy and Confidentiality Statement of the DOH¹, the pieces of information provided by the DOH on its website and FOI platform are free for public consumption and should only be used under existing laws, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. The department assumes no liability for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the data as these may change at any time without notice.
As the core government program addressing the rights of the Filipino people to information and data on matters of public interest like COVID-19, the ODPH supports the COVID-19 DOH Data Drop initiative. The ODPH now collects and stores the COVID-19 related datasets posted by the DOH on its website. Citizens can now access COVID-19 related data not only on the DOH website but also through the data.gov.ph. Datasets from May 19, 2021 to the present are already posted at the Open Data Philippines portal.
¹All COVID-19 DOH Data Drop contains the Privacy and Confidentiality Statement. This is the first file uploaded in each dataset.
